160 Sublevel Submetering
As you know, the installation of the current measuring devices called donuts over the wires that feed your apartment was not completed on the date when it was scheduled. It so happens that the sublevel circuits are tied to the house board instead of the apartment board in the basement. As long as we were master metered, there was no harm being done and your power was not being affected. However with submetering, being connected to the house panel would mean that we would be measuring the consumption of the sublevel apartments twice. For that reason, the electricians have created a new panel for sublevel apartments in the meter room and connected it to the apartment board.
On Tuesday March 23, 2010, the submetering contractor will install the donuts over the wires to your apartment. Power will be lost between the hours of 9am and 11am while they are completing this task. You do not have to be home and access to your apartment will not be necessary.
Precautions
• To avoid possible damage to any sophisticated or delicate electronic equipment such as your cable box, it is recommended that they be turned off or unplugged so as not to be affected by possible surges in electricity.
• If for any health reason you cannot afford to lose power for an hour or so, please contact the management office so that special arrangements can be made.
• Turn off your computer or save anything you have been working on to avoid its loss when power is lost.
